BtoBe label fashion shows shake up the first day at Colombiatex 2014

01/22/2014

Yesterday (21/Jan), Colombiatex kicked off its 2014 edition in great style. The Gabriela Sakate and Gralias labels that are part of BtoBe held a special fashion show with looks made using textile supplies from companies that are members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, executed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil). A public and press from around the world filled the audience to watch the show by these up and coming designers. There were more than thirty national and international media channels covering the show, including the El Colombiano and El Tiempo newspapers and the Caracol, Une and RCN TV networks.

In addition to the significant traffic around the shows, the Brazilian textiles being shown at the trade show celebrated a day of full stands. Many buyers and representatives from the retailer/wholesaler groups made deals with Brazilian brands.

The trade show is one of the biggest in Latin America and creates high expectations that are already bearing out positive results for this edition. “For yet another year, Colombiatex is proving why it is one of the most important business platforms for Brazil’s textile industries. In the first day of the trade show alone, we saw significant movement and, shortly after the doors opened, the stands were filled. We also expect to exceed last year’s sales, which totaled USD 4.4 million in just three days at the event,” says the Executive Manager of Texbrasil, Lilian Kaddissi.
