12/11/2013

Nine buyers from Isetan Mitsukoshi, retailer that has 29 stores in Japan, were in the country during December to strengthen ties with Brazilian labels in various sectors, such as food, beverages, cosmetics and apparel. They attended a showroom at Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) headquarters with 135 Brazilian companies, including 17 Texbrasil‘s (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) brands: 3AM, Aua, Cynthia Hayashi, GIG, Gabriela Sakate, Morena Rosa, Vivaz, Adriana Degreas, Lisa Riedt, Limonada, Lybethras, Ana Maria Couture, Patricia Bonaldi, T. Arrigoni, Scarf Me, Blue Man and Mabel Magalhaes.

The visit was organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), which executes Texbrasil in partnership with Abit, with the purpose of finding products that will be part of a selection of Brazilian items that will go on sale at the retail chain starting in April 2014. The goal is to strengthen Brazil’s positioning in the Japanese market with high-quality and added value products, introducing the Brazilian lifestyle to Isetan Mitsukoshi customers.

The initiative is in line with the Agency’s goal of positioning Brazil in the international market with innovative and high quality products. Not only is Japan a reference for other Asian countries, it is also one of the world’s top luxury markets. Keeping in mind how highly demanding Japanese consumers are, acceptance of “Made in Brazil” will open the door for Brazilian luxury goods to enter other Asian markets.
