Canatiba: future of the new present

06/14/2022

Aligned  with the fashion and lifestyle trends that guide the textile industry across the planet, Canatiba, a company from Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Association of the Textile Industry and Confection) and the ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), redesigned its showroom for the launch round in Denim City, São Paulo, between May 24th and 26th.

Terra Mítica, Herança Viva and SuP&R! are the three sets of influences, colors and sensations that inspired Canatiba in the direction of unveiling the Future of the New Present. This is a time that speaks about technology, ancestry, metaverse, land and excellence. But this is also a moment that seeks a new way of being human. Talking about the Future of the New Present is talking about each of us, our origins and legacies for a world that is welcoming.

Terra Mítica – It is a space that invites you to see the beauty in Divine Chaos. It takes us to the greatness of marine beings that emit light, the so-called bioluminescence. It’s a lifestyle in shades of red, ambitious purples, forest greens and climate grays. Authentic blacks stand out among the washing trends, alongside resins, bio greens, intense blues and pure indigo.

Among the launches, New Mirror Stretch (cotton 1%; polyester 26%; elastane 3%), Graphite Overdyed (cotton 99%; elastane 1%), Autêntico PT (cotton 98%; elastane 2%) or Dalmeida Maxskin PT (72% cotton; 26% lyocell; 2% elastane), the Siena PT (100% cotton) and the Maratona 360º (86% cotton; 8% elastomultiester; 6.00 elastane) in dark and over blue versions.

Herança Viva – This lifestyle guides us towards a deep Brazil, with all its strength to unite us, even in the face of the socioeconomic abysses that separate us. It’s a dive in search of the roots of our cultural identity. The earthy ones land in medium browns, light up in duo yellow and the intensity of orange citrus. The washes and effects ask for markings and reserves, resins, faded greens, acid colors and natural pts. Denim comes in light tones, going through vintage, over dyed and medium blue, to warm up.

Urutau Dark (99% cotton, 15% recycled cotton; 1% elastane), Donato PT (84% cotton; 16% lyocell), Kiosfera Maxskin PT (60% viscose; 40% cotton), Harmonia PT and Denim (cotton 100%), Kactus linen PT (cotton 66%; viscose 23%; linen 11%), Viscolino Éko PT (cotton 40%; viscose 28%; lyocell 20%; linen 12%), Panama linen PT (cotton 64%; viscose 25%; linen 11%) and Letônia PT (linen 50%, viscose 50%).

SuP&.R! – This lifestyle is an ode to the young, super connected, to the energy of renewal. Time to talk about all forms of love, without gender constraints. Talk about friendship as a greater value. About school as a universe where everything happens. About dance and sports as an expression. It’s a world of colored nails and hair. The tones start from nostalgic pink, through purist and digital lilac and arriving at Phygital blue. Dye effects, highlights and blacks ask for a passage between over dyed denim and medium blue. It is the moment of distressing with its giant volumes, of patchwork, mixed and skyn printing.

Vagalun Flúor (96% cotton; 4% elastane); Astuto encerado (98% cotton; 2% elastane); Cotelê PT (65% cotton; 34% lyocell; 1% elastane); Ibiza PT (viscose 60% cotton 40%); Lampeduza Elastopol, Duo Core r Duo Core Dark (67% cotton; 31% polyester; 2% elastane); La fortuna PT (98% cotton; 2% elastane); Trindade (98% cotton; 2% elastane); Nettuno PT (100% cotton); PT mesh (cotton 83%; polyester 15%; elastane 2%); Barreiras Duo Core, Blue Black, O.D. Black, O.D. Blue and Dark (93% cotton; 5% elastomultiester; 2% elastane); Nettuno Denim (100% cotton); Presidente Maxskin (64% cotton; 34% lyocell; 2% elastane); Presidente Duo Core (79% cotton; 13% lyocell; 5% elastomultiester; 3% elastane); Poderoso Maxskin (cotton 67%; lyocell 32%; spandex 1%) and Madureira Over Dyed Black (cotton 98%; spandex 2%).
