Canatiba partners with stylist Heloísa Faria in new collection
The Canatiba textile brand, which is part of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil ( Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – was chosen by Heloísa Faria to supply the fabrics of the stylist’s new collection. The pieces were presented in the latest edition of Casa de Criadores, a Brazilian event that promotes authorial fashion and new designers.
Called “Amulet”, the collection speaks of protection and looking at oneself, building self-esteem based on comfort, freedom, and affection. This was the basis for the development of the pieces created with Canatiba‘s Resiklo Éko. The fabric consists of 68% cotton and 32% lyocell.
The pieces created by Heloísa Faria were inspired by the women painted by Kasimir Malevitch, an abstract Ukrainian painter from the first half of the 20th century, who portrayed Soviet workers always dressed and protected to face daily life. The stylist applied Viroblock antiviral treatment to all pieces in the collection.
