Casa de Criadores and Texbrasil launch BtoBe
The Casa de Criadores (House of Creators, a Brazilian fashion week for new designers) and Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, maintained by Abit and Apex-Brasil) are announcing the launch of BtoBe (Brazilians to Be), a contest to replace the Ponto Zero competition, which will be expanded to candidates across Brazil. The project will have two categories – Fashion Design Entrepreneurs and Fashion Students.
The winners of the competition will be included in a series of training and business promotion activities in Brazil and abroad. “Our goal is to work in partnership with Apex-Brasil to develop a global business mentality, providing support for the designers to enhance their activities in various areas,” says Evilásio Miranda, Manager of the Fashion and Design Center at Texbrasil.
For the Director of Casa de Criadores, André Hidalgo, BtoBe is a natural evolution of the Ponto Zero program, created in 2008. “We’ve always focused on finding new talent with entrepreneurial potential. The main difference with BtoBe, in addition to its nationwide scope, is that now we have an arm to take care of designers willing to develop their brands in Brazil and abroad, regardless of whether or not they have a university degree,” says Hidalgo.
