Casa de Criadores announces line-up for 36th edition
The F/W 2015 edition of Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) is being held on October 27 to 30. Galeria Prestes Maia continues to be the main location for the event, which is known for always choosing cultural spaces in downtown Sao Paulo to host its editions. Karin Feller and Gralias, members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) are in the line-up for this season, which also includes Walerio Araujo, Weider Silveiro, Danilo Costa, Fernando Cozendey, Rober Dognani, and others.
This edition will also have an exhibition and a fashion show for the contest finalists of BtoBe (Brazilians to Be), an incubator created through the partnership between Texbrasil and Casa de Criadores that is aimed at encouraging new talent in Brazilian fashion to develop long-term management geared towards brand internationalization. “It is a very interesting project, since we were able to follow the designers from the start, getting them to have more of a vision of business and to develop sustainably”, says the director of Casa de Criadores, Andre Hidalgo. Evilasio Miranda, manager of the Texbrasil Fashion and Design Center, highlights the initiative’s importance to the Brazilian fashion market. “Our goal is to work in partnership with Apex-Brasil to develop a global business mentality, providing support for the designers to enhance their activities in various areas”, he says.
The contest is split into two categories: fashion students and fashion entrepreneurs. The finalists in the entrepreneurs category are Cisô, by Teca Pasqua; PhD, by Taina Barrionuevo and Henrique Alves; Beira, by Livia Campos; Cycleland, by Naly Cabral; Ju Guimaraes, by Juliana Oliveira Guimarães; and JON, by Jonathan Souza. The finalist students are Marcela Saravy (FASM, SP), Gabriela Braga (FASM, SP), Ana Luisa Barros (FUMEC, MG), Einstein Halking (SENAC, SP), Pedro Andrade and Giovanna Costa (Anhembi Morumbi, SP) and Giorgi Philipi (UFMG, MG).The contest winners will hold fashion shows at the next edition of Casa de Criadores through the Lab Project.
