Cedro Releases the ‘Essence’ Collection
An industry with over a century and a half of experience and an accurate glimpse of the future, result of years of pioneering and close relationship with fashion. Here’s how it is, by connecting a comprehensive international research with listening the most basic needs of its customers in Brazil and Latin America, that Cedro Textil, a Texbrasil company (Brazilian Fashion Internationalization Program) — result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), arrives at its first jeanswear release of the year: the Essência [Essence] collection. The new items displayed from May 24 and 26 at the brand’s Lounge, in Denim City, in a sophisticated publishing that proposes a reconnection with the natural world. But visitors were also hit by an exclusive, futuristic collection with a strong fashion appeal created by renowned stylist Martielo Toledo, celebrating Cedro Textil’s 150 years.
According to Eduardo Paixão, Cedro’s style manager, the Essência [Essence] collection sensibly reflects on the changes that struck us collectively over the past years. “We are going through a moment of intense relations with the virtual world, but eager to return to the simple and natural. We know that, today, disconnecting is almost impossible. So we propose a healthy coexistence with the space that surrounds us and our virtual persona. Thus, our collection brings the dream of freedom and our connection with the land to the immaterial world where possibilities are endless. We bring human plurality, dressed in what is fashion’s most democratic item: Denim. And we propose everyone to take a deep breath, let their imagination free and, first of all, to know how to balance what we really are, our essence, with what the world demands from us”, he explains.
In the Essência [Essence] collection, a unique, autumn-inspired color palette is shown, with simple and sophisticated layout, in which naturalism dominating the imagery. Everything planned by the style team to inspire and provide quality fashion information to customers of all kinds.
“Our style team works as a pristine fashion consultant. We are always in touch with our customers, listening, guiding and inspiring them with our 2000+ item lineup, exclusively designed to bring layout, washing and trimming proposals to apparel”, explains Joanna Carrara, Cedro Textil’s marketing manager. In the event, in addition to new products, five partner laundromats took part to show the application possibilities of the new Cedro products, but there’s more. Visitors have also experienced a history exhibit for inspiration: the Cedo collection by Martielo Toledo.
Exclusive wear to celebrate 150 years – to commemorate this special date in a company that is always reinventing itself and is ahead of its time, Cedro has invited the stylist and designer Martielo Toledo to create an exclusive capsule collection. The Cedro Textil by Martielo Toledo apparel was exhibited in a special section of the Lounge, during the Essência [Essence] release days, with the proposal of bringing conceptual inspiration to company customers.
Martielo, who over the past years has been performing as creative director of the sci-fi saga SCI-FI PUNK PROJECTS, a multi-platform that connects fashion, comics, music, art and technology, brings his entire futuristic repertoire to the apparel created in this colab with Cedro products. According to him, a way of pointing to a direction with regards to denim, twill and other textile products with which Cedro may still surprise their customers in the following years.
