Cedro Têxtil adopts a management system to integrate production and advance its digital transformation
A platform specializing in textile processes will connect planning, execution, and production data across jeanswear and workwear operations
Cedro Têxtil has announced the adoption of Operacional SGT (Textile Management System), a platform that combines ERP and MES capabilities to integrate production planning, execution, and data management. This initiative is part of the company’s investment cycle—totaling over R$ 100 million—focused on technology, innovation, and the modernization of its manufacturing facilities.
Founded in 1872 and a Latin American leader in the production of fabrics for workwear and jeanswear, the company aims to link information from various industrial stages—such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing—to a faster, more reliable database for operational management.
Developed to meet the specific needs of the textile industry, Operacional SGT will support the integration of planning, costing, quality, and traceability processes. The solution will also interface with systems Cedro already uses: Senior (for finance, accounting, and tax), Narwal (for foreign trade), and Skyone (for cloud infrastructure).
Expected outcomes include greater operational predictability, improved asset utilization, optimized working capital, and a reduction in manual tasks and rework. The integration is also expected to enhance the company’s flexibility in responding to market demands within the jeanswear and workwear sectors.
“In recent years, we have modernized our assets and upgraded the technological level of our operations. Now, we are linking these investments to more integrated industrial management, capable of improving predictability, productivity, and capital utilization,” says Fábio Mascarenhas Alves, CEO of Cedro Têxtil.
According to the executive, the choice took into account the platform’s ability to handle the complexity of the textile supply chain and transform data from various stages into actionable information for decision-making. “The decision to adopt SGT was driven by fit, execution capability, and long-term value creation,” he adds.
Specialized system for the textile industry
The selection of Operacional SGT was preceded by a supplier diagnosis and evaluation process. Cedro mapped its industrial workflows and analyzed factors such as alignment with textile processes, integration with existing systems, the implementation model, total cost of ownership, and expected return.
The company prioritized a platform specialized in the sector, featuring capabilities suited to its scale and offering consulting services tailored to its business needs.
Phased implementation and monitoring via indicators
Implementation will take place in phases, aiming to mitigate risks and ensure the continuity of manufacturing operations. The initial stage involves process modeling, system parameterization, workflow validation, integration preparation, and team training. Change management initiatives and the operation of a pilot system running alongside the current setup are also planned.
The project will be monitored using indicators related to planning, work-in-progress (WIP) inventory, rescheduling, lead times, losses, rework, and delivery punctuality. This allows the platform’s progress to be linked to observable operational results.
