Children’s Club welcomes Texbrasil companies
Aimed at kidswear, children’s footwear and toys, the S/S 2016 edition of Children’s Club begins on Sunday and goes until August 4, at the Javits Convention Center in New York. Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) is supporting six Brazilian brands at the event: L’Ete, Lili Bag, Pacoca, Cristina Malhas, Mini US and Spirodiro.
Silvia Ferraz, of Spirodiro, says that taking part in a special course for Brazilian companies at Bunka Fashion College has readied her to use everything she learned from Japanese culture. “The overriding message that has stayed with me since the mission to Japan is to stay focused. That means that a brand should carry its values above everything else. This is what supports in successful times and crises,” says Ferraz. “In the domestic market, we usually follow a very Brazilian line; but, to export, we are concerned with adapting some products. In this collection, we have a line developed just for the event, and we want to show the best of Spirodiro and the Brazilian kidswear market,” she adds.
This is the second international trade show for Mini US and businessman Tico Sahyoun believes that the North American market is very receptive to the brand’s products. “The brand has everything to do with the United States and we’ll continue investing in exports. Participating in international showrooms is proof of how much we work in an organized and serious way to grow both inside and outside of Brazil,” says Sahyoun.
With years of experience at international events, Sheyla Rocha, of Lili Bag, says she has good expectations. “We’re introducing products from the infant line, with bags, purses, thermal backpacks and a changer. I’m very excited about this edition,” says Rocha. Karine and Andrea, of Pacoca, hope to be as successful as they were at Pitti Bimbo, their last international show. “We closed deals with Harvey Nichols, a major retailer, and were able to see how much the Chinese and Italian publics loved our products. We were able to form several fruitful partnerships and we hope the same happens at Children’s Club,” they say.
