Circulo S.A. takes Brazilian creativity to Germany’s H+H Cologne show
For the second year in a row, Circulo S.A. attended H+H Cologne, one of the largest craft yarn and fabric shows in the world, held from March 31 to April 2 in the city of Cologne, Germany. With the support of Texbrasil – Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – the maker of crafting yarn did USD 100,000 in business during the event, with expectations of USD 200,000 over the next 12 months.
In addition to its entire range of products, in the most varied colors, textures and fibers, the Santa Catarina-based company brought a little Brazilian creativity to H+H, through apparel and decorative items made by Brazilian crafters. “We also took the chance to bring a Brazilian crafter with us to talk to crafters from other countries and create this exchange of experiences and information that is so important to understand the consumer market. We had a very good reception and great interest from the crafters, who were surprised to find out we are from Brazil,” says Eduardo Hoffmann, of Circulo S.A.’s export area.
He says that cotton and vibrantly colored products caught the attention of the public, who is accustomed to the darker colors in collections. “We also showed naturally colored cotton, which does not undergo dying and maintains the fiber’s original features, in addition to using less water in the manufacturing process, which is highly valued by people today,” he adds.
During the show, which brings together top suppliers specializing in products for creative crafting, for business and for hobbyists, the brand also gathered sales contacts in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Spain. “In addition to having more visitors than last year, we saw that people from all over the world visited us, showing that it is not just Europeans who are interested in us,” says Eduardo. Circulo S.A. is consolidated in the national market and gains more and more fans in crafting in Brazil and abroad, currently exporting to 23 countries.
