Círculo supports fashion stylists at SPFW

Yarns for crochet and knitting by Círculo make up looks from the collections of DEPEDRO, LED, Ponto Firme and Renata Buzzo, presented during São Paulo Fashion Week N55, the biggest fashion event in Latin America, which took place from May 25th to 28th. The fashion stylists of the four brands have manual work as their creative essence, mixing elements that add value to handmade crafts.

Círculo, a manufacturer of yarn for handicrafts, encourages projects that promote and present the infinite possibilities of craftsmanship. The brand is a member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program)– the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency).

The brand contributed to the participation of fashion stylists in this edition of SPFW with the aim of enhancing the aesthetics of handcrafts and DIY (do it yourself) clothing. “We have been supporting some fashion stylists for years at fashion and design events precisely to expand the concept of handmade, putting crochet and knitting in evidence in cool and sophisticated pieces, in any season, occasion and proposal”, evaluates Osni de Oliveira Junior, Marketing Officer, Círculo.

Among those supported was the Ponto Firme project, which emerged in 2015 through a voluntary initiative by fashion stylist Gustavo Silvestre in partnership with Círculo, which provides raw materials to bring affection, design and aesthetics into a penitentiary, promoting social transformation through fashion and crochet for inmates and ex-prisoners. The collection presented at the SPFW show addresses the fusion between technology and handcrafts. The metallic and plastic pieces were laser cut in the necessary format to attach to the crochet and create totally personalized and exclusive looks. “Based on these inspirations, materials and threads, the idea is to show crochet in a way that has never been seen before”, reveals Gustavo Silvestre.
