Colcci, Gloria Coelho and Adriana Degreas shake up day four at SPFW

04/03/2014

Last Wednesday (April 2), the runways at S/S 2015 Sao Paulo Fashion Week welcomed three member brands of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil): Colcci, Gloria Coelho and Adriana Degreas.

Designer Adriana Degreas showed a beach couture collection geared towards a sexy and sophisticated woman. Swan prints on beach cover-ups and swimsuits contrasted with the transparency of tulle as a mainstay for the season. At first, black was predominant on items such as hot pants as well as beautiful swimsuits with geometric cutouts and even a very flowing long dress. Next came tops and one-pieces in different tones of green, adding a hint of color. The collection included a reinterpretation of drawings by Walter Crane, a late 18th century English artist, considered to be one of the most influential children’s authors. Little by little, the items began to come in golden versions, alongside others that were fully pleated for a Romantic touch.

Colcci had what everyone wanted: Gisele Bundchen. The supermodel showed two looks under the watchful eye of husband Tom Brady, who was sitting front-row at the show. The collection contained vibrant and neutral colors; jeans-work, especially jeans decorated with turquoise studs, was a hit with the public. The silhouette speaks significantly to the mix done by the fashionistas, comprised of items that fall just below the knees, accentuating curves, baring shoulders, criss-crossing necklines, with bare mid-sections and very loose skirts and parkas. Off-white looks were the highlight, like the one that Gisele ended the show with. For the menswear collection, Gesiel Moraes offered up cool tailoring, mixing stripes and Asian florals on shorts, jackets with sporty cutouts and structured shirts, in a color portfolio with corals, reds and blues. The highlight was the floral print men’s shirts.

Gloria was inspired by unicorns for her collection, without going literal. Medieval tailoring is clear in the beautifully constructed crepe cape-jackets, a sophisticated choice for summer and one of the pieces that everyone already wants. The ribbed knitwear garments that opened the collection were youthful in their simplicity and vibrant color. The show ended with evening wear, starting with a series of short and long dresses, constructed using swaths over tulle.
