COLOMBIAMODA + COLOMBIATEX 2024: BRAZILIAN BRANDS ACHIEVE EXPRESSIVE RESULTS AT SOUTH AMERICA’S MAIN APPAREL TRADE SHOW

Colombiamoda + Colombiatex, the main apparel, textile and acessories trade show in Latin America, took place from July 23 to 25, 2024, at Plaza Mayor, in Medellín, Colombia. This event, which covers several textile and apparel segments, including women’s and men’s casual wear, intimate apparel, fitness, beachwear, kid’s fashion, accessories, footwear, leather goods and industries in the textile and raw materials sector, was attended by Brazilian brands. The delegation was organized by Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association)

During the country’s most important fashion week, Colombiamoda + Colombiatex attracted the main players in the Latin market, providing an ideal platform for creating new business and networking opportunities. In addition to the exhibition, the trade show featured a range of activations such as fashion shows, workshops and lectures, offering participants a complete and enriching experience.

This year, with the support of Texbrasil, five Brazilian brands were present at the event: Brandili, Cupido, Kalimo, Kyly and Rovitex. These companies, recognized for the quality and innovation of their products, had the opportunity to present their collections to an international audience of buyers and industry professionals.

The participating Brazilian brands made a total of 480 business contacts, generating business totaling USD 108,000 during the three days of the exhibition. The expected return throughout the year is USD 2,500,000. Daniel Bernardo, export manager at Brandili, highlighted: “Participating in Colombiamoda + Colombiatex provided us with an excellent opportunity to expand our network of contacts and close important deals for the future. It was an enriching experience for our brand.” Likewise, Daniel Batista, export manager at Rovitex, mentioned: “The trade show allowed us to showcase the quality and innovation of our products to a qualified audience, resulting in excellent business prospects for the coming months.” Additionally, Adriana Berto, Head of Product at Kalimo, added: “The trade show was essential to consolidate our brand’s presence in the international market, allowing for a valuable exchange of knowledge and opportunities.”

The 2024 edition of Colombiamoda was special, celebrating 35 years of history. The event was attended by over 70,500 visitors from over 40 countries, highlighting the internationalization of the industry. The trade show had over 600 exhibitors, consolidating its position as an important center for business and innovation.

Participation in Colombiamoda + Colombiatex was a strategic step towards expansion in the Latin American market, reinforcing Brazil’s presence as an important player in the international fashion scene. Texbrasil’s support was essential to enable these companies to participate, providing all the support they needed to make the most of the opportunities offered by the trade show.
