Twenty Brazilian textile brands will be in Medellin between 22 and 24 January to attend Colombiatex, one of the largest trades of the industry. The companies Audaces, Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro, Covolan, Delfa, Doptex, Farbe, Gvallone, Hudtelfa, Linhas Setta, Neotextil, Paramount, Ph Fit, Rhodia, Rosset, Tavex, Santanense, Vicunha and Zanotti will be at the event with support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
According to Rafael Cervone, executive director of Texbrasil, the event presents great opportunities for national brands. “We will achieve significant sales over the next five years. The country is working via Texbrasil Program to expand exports, as there are many opportunities in international markets, among them Colombia, and we have the full capacity to accomplish this”, he says.
The Program also promotes runway shows of designers Lucas Devitte and Isadora Zendron (of the duo Teodoro&Anita) and Weider Silverio. Selected by the Program, they will present the Brazilian trends for 2013 with outfits produced with inputs of Brazilian companies present at the trade.
Weider Silverio is one of the official stylists of Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) and is known for timeless and contemporary proposals of his work. The duo Teodoro&Anita were the winners of the 2011 edition of the Ponto Zero Project organized by Abit, via Texbrasil, Mercado Mundo Mix, Casa de Criadores and supported by Sinditextil-SP. The Project seeks new fashion talents and rewards the winners with a special participation in international events.
