Colombiatex ends edition with USD 152,5 million in opportunities
Reasserting itself as the largest tradeshow for the textile industry in Latin America, the 25th edition of Colombiatex ended with a balance of USD 152.5 million in business expectations. Twenty Brazilian brands were in Medellin with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). “The companies leaved the trade very satisfied with the results achieved in this edition”, says Rafael Cervone, executive director of the Program.
Audaces, Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro, Covolan, Delfa, Doptex, Farbe, Gvallone, Hudtelfa, Linhas Setta, Neotextil, Paramount, Ph Fit, Rhodia, Rosset, Tavex, Santanense, Vicunha and Zanotti attended the trade, which had over 32,000 visitors and nearly 1,700 international buyers from countries such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Canada, UAE, Spain, United States, Finland, France, England, Italy, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The event brought together the most important innovations of the segment. Among them, a proposal by Vicunha that presented indigo ECO-D made from polyester derived from plastic bottles, and Rhodia, which announced its advances with new technology applications of Emana polyamide textile filaments.
Another action by Texbrasil was promoting a runway show with garments made with supplies of Brazilian companies participating in the trade. The sponsor stylists were Weider Silverio of Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) plus Lucas Devitte and Isadora Zendron (of the duo Teodoro&Anita), winners of the Project Ponto Zero 2011 Edition (organized by Abit via Texbrasil, Mercado Mundo Mix, Casa de Criadores and supported by Sinditextil-SP) which seeks new talent in fashion and rewards the winners with special participation in some international event.
