Through a partnership agreement with Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the IFM – Institut Français de la Mode, one of the most important fashion education institutions in the world, will be welcoming Brazilian companies from April 7 to 10 for training on how to develop and adapt their product mixes for the international market.

The Texbrasil member companies taking part in the course are 3AM, Lanca Perfume and AMMO, a holding company that represents the Mmartan, Artex and Casa Moyses brands. During the course, talks will be given on fashion in China and the Middle East by Christophe Billet and there will be a workshop on European fashion with Patricia Romatet in addition to visits to Paris department stores. Evilasio Miranda, Manager of the Texbrasil Fashion and Design Center, believes that the French capital is an ideal location to host actions like this. “In Paris, we are able to gather the kind of information needed for Brazilian brands to have the best commercial results for their collections,” he says.

In addition to the companies, three Texbrasil consultants are also taking part in training aimed at preparing them to use the knowledge they gain with companies that are part of the Program, which will now offer a consulting program called Capsula. This initiative consists of individual and collective services for companies, helping them with planning, adapting and editing collections for specific target markets, understanding what local consumers like and how they behave. Fashion trends, raw materials, lengths, product families, pricing, seasonality and other topics will be discussed at these meetings so that the companies have better chances of commercial success when taking part in international events.

Created in 1986 by fashion professionals along with France’s Ministry of Industry, IFM uses an approach to teaching that joins design and strategic management. Because of its beginnings, it maintains constant links with the biggest and most important players in the industry – companies, showrooms, buyers, consultants, etc. – and is able to convey a more realistic vision of the market to its students, The institute’s headquarters are located in Cité de la Mode et du Design, a Paris building on the banks of the Seine River housing stores, showrooms, restaurants and temporary exhibits.
