The history of São Pedro de Alcântara goes back to the second empire, when, at the request of Dom Pedro II, his friend founds CIA IMPERIAL SÃO PEDRO DE ALCANTARA in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The year is uncertain, it is estimated that it was in 1870, being one of the five oldest factories in Brazil. During its approximately 150 years of history, always operating in the fashion segment, the company belonged to 7 different controllers.
In 2002, it was sold to the current group, which promoted a union between the centennial history of the factory with modernity, incorporating state-of-the-art textile technology to tradition and know-how. Thus, SPA Beach & Fitness emerges, specializing in the manufacture of high-end products for the Beach and Fitness markets with units in Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, and Fortaleza.
