COTERIE NY: BRAZILIAN BRANDS PREPARE FOR ONE OF THE LARGEST FASHION EVENTS IN THE WORLD

Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), will bring 23 Brazilian brands to the Coterie NY trade show, which will take place from February 18 to 20 in New York, United States.

The event, launched in 1986, is recognized as one of the largest contemporary fashion and lifestyle trade shows in the world. Focused on women’s fashion, accessories and footwear, Coterie is a strategic space to connect brands with buyers, designers and other industry professionals. With rigorous curation, the trade show attracts retailers and major players in the global market looking for differentiated and high-quality products.

“Coterie NY is a very important platform for the international projection of Brazilian fashion brands”, says Lilian Kaddissi, Marketing and Business Superintendent at Abit. “Through the event, companies establish valuable contacts with potential customers, distributors and partners, which generates new business opportunities and drives the expansion of operations in the North American market”.

According to Statista, the United States is expected to consume US$ 365.6 billion in apparel in 2025, remaining the largest global consumer of this segment. In addition, apparel consumption in the country is expected to grow at an annual rate of 1.84% from 2025 to 2029.

In terms of foreign trade, the United States continues to be the world’s largest buyer of apparel. With the 2024 data almost fully consolidated, from January to November 2024, the country imported US$ 77.1 billion in products from the industry, registering a growth of around 2% compared to the same period in 2023. In the same period, Brazil exported US$ 17.8 million in apparel to the United States, positioning itself as the 53rd largest supplier in this market (Comtrade).

The Brazilian delegation will include names such as Ayla Acessórios, Cacay, Cristina Sabatini, Donna Si, Dress To, Gissa Bicalho, Graciano’s Handmade Leather, Lavish, Le Borô, Maria Pavan, Mariana Meirelles, Marie Mercié, Melissa, Modus Rio, Nadia Gimenes, Paola Bernardi, Patricia Motta, Schutz, Serpui, The Dressing Project, Toni Barros, Verosenso e Zoew Beachwear. These brands promise to delight visitors with collections that reflect the creativity, quality and authenticity of Brazilian fashion.

In this edition, Texbrasil reinforces its commitment to internationalizing the Brazilian fashion industry, offering participating brands another opportunity to establish strategic commercial connections and strengthen their presence in the North American market.
