Curve Connect: Brazilian brands are expecting to close USD 170 thousand in sales

Like most of the physical events that would take place in the second semester, the intimate fashion tradeshow Curve canceled its physical edition and developed a new digital format. Curve Connect took place between September 13th and 25th through an online platform with the participation of Brazilian brands Daniela Tombini and Mari M.

The companies closed deals worth USD 17.5 thousand during the event and there is also a forecast of another USD 170 thousand in sales in the next 12 months. The brands participated in Curve Connect with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency).

This is the first edition of the Daniela Tombini brand at the tradeshow. And, according to the brand’s operations director, Eduardo Tombini, the online format was approved. “We believe that the digital edition is a great advance, because it has added what is best in technology: bringing people and business together,” he points out.

The executive comments that the virtual version also had challenges, such as adjusting the time zone, and preparing an attractive showcase for buyers to be interested in. But, even so, the director celebrates the new contacts made, not only with American buyers. “With the virtual tradeshow, we were able to get initial orders from other countries, like Canada. We are working with customers from the American market who are interested as well, since the post-tradeshow work is so important for new orders and long-term partnerships”, he comments.

For Eduardo, the digital format is an advance and should be maintained in the future, in addition to the physical version. “Digital edition can become a complement, since the effect of having the pieces physically and talking personally is still very positive for networking and business,” he concludes.
