Dalila and Altenburg turn rest into an experience with an exclusive Pima cotton pillowcase

Partnership combines textile innovation, comfort, and technology to create a distinctive experience for Dalila’s customers

In a market where quality is already a given, the customer experience is becoming increasingly important in building relationships between brands and consumers. With this in mind, Dalila Ateliê Têxtil—a national leader in circular knitting and fashion industry innovation—developed a special initiative in partnership with Altenburg, a long-established Brazilian brand in the bed, table, and bath sector.

Throughout August, select Dalila customers receive an exclusive pillowcase crafted from 60-count Pima yarn, featuring a D+ finish and antibacterial technology. This initiative brings the qualities found in the company’s premium knits into the realm of rest, transforming the fabric experience into a moment of comfort and well-being.

From the workout to downtime

The idea stemmed from a recurring comment made during presentations of Dalila’s collections. Upon discovering the fabrics developed using Pima yarn with D+ technology, many customers would say they felt like “wrapping themselves up” in or “lying down” on those knits.

This observation led the company to rethink the material’s potential applications: if the knit offers such a pleasant wearing experience, why not extend it to moments of relaxation as well?

With experience in developing Pima yarn since 2017, Dalila has turned this insight into an initiative that broadens the perception of knitwear possibilities and brings textile technology closer to everyday life.

“This gift is a way to show care and be present in our customers’ daily lives in a completely new way,” highlights André Klein, CEO of Dalila Ateliê Têxtil.

Partnership with Altenburg

To turn the concept into a product, Dalila joined forces with Altenburg, a company with a history spanning over a century and recognized for its presence in the bedding and comfort products sector.

The partnership enabled the development of a pillowcase that embodies the initiative’s concept: bringing the quality and technology of knit fabric to an experience associated with rest and well-being.

In addition to Pima 60 yarn, the product features a D+ finish and antibacterial technology, combining technical attributes and comfort in an application distinct from that traditionally associated with fashion knitwear.

Experience as a brand strategy

More than just a promotional campaign, the initiative reinforces a philosophy central to Dalila’s journey: creating new possibilities for the textile industry and developing experiences that bring brands and people closer together.

Inspired by Carlos Ferreirinha’s reflections on the importance of brands being part of people’s lives, the company found in this initiative a symbolic way to extend its presence beyond the collections and products developed for its customers.

“We want to create experiences that make our brand present in people’s lives, and not just in the collections we develop together,” adds André Klein.

The proposal also reinforces a market trend in which textile companies seek to expand the use and perception of their materials, demonstrating that innovation can lie not only in the technology applied to the fabric but also in the diverse experiences it can provide.

“Me llama para dormir”

The initiative was named “Me llama para dormir”—a play on the llama (the campaign’s chosen symbol) and the Spanish phrase meaning “calls me to sleep.”

With a lighthearted and humorous approach, the concept invites people to slow down, rest, and recharge for the second half of the year. The relaxed tone complements the initiative’s aim, bridging the gap between the technical world of the textile industry and an everyday, personal experience.

By transforming premium knit fabric into a pillowcase, Dalila expands the scope of its textile expertise and demonstrates how innovation, technology, and creativity can be harnessed to create new experiences.

The partnership with Altenburg reinforces this movement and demonstrates that textile development can go beyond the traditional boundaries of fashion, reaching into various moments of life and contributing to experiences of comfort and well-being.
