Delegation of 14 Brazilian apparel companies to attend Coterie
From September 15 to 17, a delegation of 14 Brazilian companies will be in New York, in the USA. The brands are taking part in the Coterie apparel and accessories show with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) and Fashion Label Brasil – internationalization programs carried out through partnerships between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ABEST (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers), respectively.
Among the companies presenting their S/S 2020 collections at the event are Texbrasil brands ( Charmosa, Colcci, Haes, Juliana Sanmartin, Maria Pavan, PatBO, Rio de Sol and Skazi) e do Fashion La ) and Fashion Label Brasil brands (Glorinha Paranaguá, Iorane, Lavish, Paula Torres, Ryzi and SERPUI).
Rio de Sol is one of the companies attending the show. This is the beachwear label’s first time at Coterie. Gian Guatierri, owner of Rio de Sol, said that the company’s expectations are high for its debut on the market.
“We will not be competing on price, since the North American market has high rates, but based on the quality and creativity of our products,” says Gian. He also says that Rio de Sol’s punctual deliveries will play in its favor when it comes to winning customers.
SERPUI is already a veteran of Coterie; the brand has attended the Paris show for over 15 years. “Coterie was, without question, a major showcase for the international market to see my work. Over all these years, we were able to build loyalty among American customers, bringing them the Brazilian spirit through our colorful and joyful bags. International buyers notice that we’re a Brazilian brand, thanks to this innovative and fun DNA,” says Serpui Marie, the brand’s designer.
Talking about the Brazilian participation in the show, Lilian Kadissi, Executive Manager of Texbrasil, said that “we’ve been supporting Program companies at the event for nearly 20 years. This work has borne fruit, especially with the North American buyers who already have relationships with lots of brands.”
Lilian furthermore explains that Brazilian attendance also adds to the image of Brazilian products on the apparel market. “Americans are already familiar with many Brazilian brands. The business platform is a true showcase in this sense,” she says in closing.
