Designer Conrado Segreto will be the inspiration for the 45th SPFW

The date and the theme have been set for the 45^th edition of SPFW: it will be held April 22 to 26, at the Pavilhao das Culturas Brasileiras in Ibirapuera Park and will pay homage to fashion designer Conrado Segreto.

This year’s theme is “POW! Creative Explosion,” inspired by the creative mind of the artist, who died in 1992 at the age of 32 as a result of complications from AIDS. With a brief yet remarkable career, the event is celebrating the impact and freedom characteristic of his creations.

In addition being a designer – who showed his collections at Casa Rhodia, Faap and Museu do Ipiranga – Segreto was also an illustrator, whose drawings were often published in Vogue magazine. According to historian Joao Braga, the designer was “always faithful to his world vision, to his own dreams and to his will to impress a good, refined and sophisticated taste upon fashion in Brazil.”

The lineup of fashion shows has yet to be announced.
