Digitale Textil and Santaconstancia receive innovation award at Colombiatex
Digitale Textil and Santaconstancia were named the two most innovative companies in the textile industry in 2016 by the Colombian magazine “Negocios”. The choice was made during this year’s Colombiatex. Both were at the event at the end of January with the support of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
According to the magazine, Digitale Textil was given the award because of its polyester and lycra microfiber print fabrics, using the latest technology along with microcapsules of aloe vera and UV protection, moisturizing and protecting the skin. The company’s commercial representative, Renata Tonaco, says that the products drew significant attention during the event. “We doubled the contacts we made in 2015, when we first participated. We were interviewed by the magazine and by a Colombian TV channel; everyone was very interested in our fabrics and prints,” says Tonaco, adding that “the award was a very welcome surprise, especially because it came from a Colombian magazine, which further boosts our strength in exports”, explains.
Santaconstancia, in turn, was chosen because it uses biodegradable polyamide fibers that, when discarded, take just three years to totally decompose. They can be used to make any kind of garment, from bathing suits and sportswear to underwear.
