Diklatex bets on innovative technology to dominate the sportswear market in Latin America
Do you know what Latin-American football teams Flamengo, Boca Juniors and Palmeiras have in common? Besides rivalry on the field, they all count with Diklatex-made uniforms, a textile company over 40 years in the market and a member of Texbrasil – (Brazilian Fashion and Textile Industry Internationalization Program) – result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile Industry and Confection Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Investment and Exports Facilitation Agency).
Born into the sports world, it is one of the two certified Brazilian companies for the main sports brands in the world, like Adidas, Nike and Puma.
It was due to the company’s participation in Colombiatex de Las Américas, which was supported by the Program this year, that it began its international expansion phase. Now Diklatex counts with commercial and distribution partners in the main Latin-American markets, such as Argentina, the primary target for this operation.
The company also bets on international presence to reach its main goal: become a technological reference in the global setting. The company’s commercial manager, Tiago Ventura, points out that Diklatex is in a constant search for new ways to enhance their fabrics, which is an incentive to participate in events like Colombiatex.
Diklatex Technology
Reaching global player’s standards requires cutting-edge quality. According to Tiago, products are certified in Germany and undergo strict quality control, which goes from assessments on confection machinery to the applied dyes in the fabrics.
All of this is to ensure the athletes’ good performance. “Athletes’ comfort is our main concern”, Tiago explains. In addition to dry technology, that carries the athlete’s sweat to the external layers of the fabric, enabling easier moisture evaporation, Tiago says that the company is developing 10 other innovations to enhance their parts and fabrics.
Among them are TrueLife UV, which has an UPF protection above 50, ensuring sun exposure for over 10 hours, and Defense, that protects fabrics from growth and proliferation of micro-organisms, avoiding undesired odors, discoloration and spots.
