EMI Beachwear launches Mangabeira collection, inspired by nature in the state of Alagoas

Beachwear brand EMI Beachwear is introducing the “Mangabeira” collection in Brazil and internationally. Since 2018, the Rio de Janeiro-based store has been a member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – held through a partnership between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).

Anna Luiza Vasconcellos, Brand Director, took inspiration from Patacho Beach, located in the state of Alagoas, in developing prints. “I always create while thinking of the inspirational places I’ve been. In colors, textures and local culture. And then I draw plants and animals by hand, using watercolors,” says Anna.

The result for this collection is flowers and plants in vivid blue and orange, giving color to the brand’s bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, and skirts. All EMI items are made using biodegradable fabrics. According to Anna, this no longer represents a differential. “I used to consider the responsible development of products and the use of biodegradable fabrics to be a competitive factor, but now I see it as essential; every brand should use this kind of production.”

Today, EMI has exclusive prints that it’s Brand Director makes in watercolor, drawing customers in Brazil and across the globe. One focus of the brand in North America. The company has previously taken part in Texbrasil-sponsored actions to the Maredamare beachwear show in Italy and its goal is inclusion in an international showroom.
