English newspaper publishes piece on street style using Brazilian brands
The world’s eyes are on Brazil for the opening week of the world’s largest sporting event. To take advantage of the moment, the Sunday Times Style – an insert in Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper – published an editorial last Sunday with brands that are members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – Apex-Brasil). This action is the result of Apex-Brasil’s World Cup Project, created to stimulate business based on relationship marketing strategies and, of course, to promote the country of football’s image around the world.
The special was published on Sunday (June 8) and shot in three cities: Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Recife. Taking part in the photo shoot were Brazilian celebrities such as blogger Camila Coutinho, designers Patricia Bonaldi and Gabriela Sakate, models Bruna Vieira and Lara Gerin, and actress Julia Faria, among other guests, who talked about the main trend-setting fashions in Brazil. For the shoot, they wore the Patricia Bonaldi, GIG, Adriana Degreas, Andrea Marques, Blue Man, Trendt, Gabriela Sakate and other brands.
In tandem with this initiative, the magazine’s editor, Tiffanie Darke, will visit Brazil for the FIFA™ 2014 World Cup at the invitation of Texbrasil and Apex-Brasil in June. She will meet with designers and association representatives and will learn about the Brazilian luxury market. She will also watch the Cameroon versus Brazil match in Brasilia on June 23. The Program will also bring Godfrey Deeny, editor at large for fashion at Le Figaro (France) and Fernando Millan, director of the El Tiempo group (Colombia) to Brazil.
