Brazilian participation at Colombiatex generates over than USD 50 million
From January 24 to 26, the city of Medellin (Colombia) hosted the 29th edition of Colombiatex de las Americas, one of the biggest trade shows for fabrics and supplies for the apparel industry in Latin America. With the support of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – a group of 26 Brazilian companies introduced launches over the three days of the event, doing USD 2.9 million in business, with sales of USD 49 million expected from future business.
This was Santaconstancia’s second time at the event and the Colombian public took notice of the company’s unique and technological woven fabrics, while the company also showed sustainable fabrics made using Amni Soul Eco® biodegradable polyamide yarn, developed by Rhodia. “We had some good surprises at this show: our stand had lots of visitors, because of our location at the fair, and we also had good brand exposure of Santaconstancia in Colombia,” says Alessandro Pascolato, the weaving mill’s president.
Another company commemorating the great results achieved is Expor Manequins, which brought a full portfolio of mannequin solutions to the show, fulfilling everything from the most basic need to the premium line, in addition to new products in the Kids and Plus Size lines. “We consider the show a success. Contacts were highly qualified and included major regional chains with whom we are scheduling visits in the next few weeks. We also had the chance to show a new line of mannequins with a more affordable starting price, which had a great reception and adds to our portfolio,” says Marcos Andrade, CEO of the company.
Canatiba, Capricornio Textil, Cataguases, Cedro Textil, Coltex, Covolan, Dalila, Digitale Textil, Expor Manequins, Farbe, Fiorella, Hudtelfa, Kalimo, Modelle, Nicoletti, Paramount, Rhodia, Rosset, RVB Malhas, Sancris, Santaconstancia, Santana Textil, Santanense, Santista, Salotex and Vicunha were the Brazilian representatives at Colombiatex 2017, which welcomed over 500 exhibitors from around the world and 20,000 national and international visitors.
