FARM launches collection inspired by Brazilian Tropicalism for S/S 2017
The new S/S collection from FARM, Sotaque Brasil, breathes new life into the Rio de Janeiro-based brand’s typical Brazilian-ness. During the Olympics, which Brazil will host, welcoming people from around the world, the company, which is a member of Texbrasil – Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – also looks more inward to create an inspiring collection with a folkloric tint.
The color portfolio ranges from earthy tones like brown, gold and orange to vibrant colors like saffron. Because the S/S collection will be launched in July, in the middle of winter, the launch portfolio includes somber colors typical of the season, such as black, burgundy and dark green. Red and yellow are found as points of light. Prints are delicate and feminine, with just the right amount of sophistication. Sotaque Brasil also has the ‘Urban Folklore,’ ‘Tropical Royalty,’ ‘Navy,’ ‘Pretend I’m Bahia’ and ‘Preto Borogodó’ collections.
Also new from FARM is VIVA, its first fitness line dedicated to those who practice physical activities outdoors or indoors. The collection has items with special fabrics, such as biodegradable, waterproof and anti-sweat fabrics, exploring a varied color portfolio, from neutral to vibrant tones, giving even more life to leggings, tops, running shorts, bikinis, tank tops and nylon sweaters.
Inspired by the fitness line, FARM created a collection of sporty items for day-to-day use. Stripes and graphics predominate and gain strength alongside prints of foliage and flowers. In August, a new collection will be launched in partnership with Adidas Originals.
