Farm launches collection inspired by northern Brazil
Farm, a Rio de Janeiro-based apparel company and member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has just launched its F/W 2018 collection entitled “The Heart Points North.”
Jumpsuits, shirts, t-shirts, shoes and parkas were inspired by the culture of northern Brazil. The items also feature partnerships with artists from the region. The collection receives its name from a line by Leonardo Beltrao, a writer from Minas Gerais, while research visited the colors and shapes of the Tapajos River and the art of the women of the Yawanawa tribe, marked by drawings depicting the spirituality of indigenous culture.
Yawanawa artisans also made the beaded items in the mini-collection of accessories launched in partnership with the brand, named Rauti, which means “adornments of beauty and protection” in the tribe’s language.
Prints in the “The Heart Points North” collection also contain exclusive typography designed by Fernanda Martins and Samia Batista, filled with vibrant colors and inspired by the names of the popular wooden vessels that sail the rivers of Para.
