“I’ve worked in the textile industry for nearly 40 years. I know all of the hardships faced by executives and the market, but I also know how exciting, creative and vigorous the textile and apparel chain is. I really enjoy my work at Abit, the team of employees and the friends and companions around me, or that are always in contact, across Brazil. People who, like me, have fought for and believe in this industry and in Brazil,” said Pimentel after the result of voting.

“It was natural, just and deserved to choose Fernando Pimentel for CEO. He has been a tireless defender and promoter of the industry and he has deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Moreover, he has led the Abit team over recent years and has a great reputation in Brasilia. I’m sure that this was the best choice at this time of so many challenges,” said Rafael Cervone at the Board meeting also held on the same day as the election.

The Board of Directors, Audit Committee and respective Alternates for the Association were also chosen during the vote.
