Fevest 2025: Nova Friburgo reaffirms its leadership in the lingerie industry and Texbrasil strengthens international connections

07/29/2025

From June 24 to 26, Nova Friburgo (RJ), a city recognized as the Brazil’s Capital of Lingerie, hosted the 34th edition of Fevest, one of the leading trade shows in the industry in Brazil and Latin America. Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), an initiative of Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), took part in the trade show by promoting international business rounds with the goal of expanding Brazilian exports of intimate apparel, swimwear, and activewear

Strengthening international presence

In 2025, Texbrasil expanded its activities by bringing together six international buyers from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, and Peru. The number of participating brands was also significant, totaling 22 Brazilian brands in the industry.

During the event, $103,000 in immediate business was generated and future opportunities were identified, amounting to an expectation of $269,000 over the next 12 months. Highlights included the prospecting of new suppliers and the opening of commercial partnerships with strong growth potential in Latin America and the United States.

A distinguishing feature of this edition was the exclusive space created for the business rounds, which provided greater efficiency in commercial interactions and fostered an environment of exchange between exhibitors and buyers.

Assessment by international buyers

The experience of the international guests was highly positive:

  • 85 business contacts were made;
  • Most rated Brazilian products as high quality, from very good to excellent;
  • 83% rated the business environment as “very good”;
  • 100% received price lists in dollars and 84% stated that participation exceeded their expectations.

Lilian Kaddissi, Superintendent of Marketing and Business at Abit, assessed the participation as an important step in consolidating Brazil as a relevant and competitive supplier in the global intimate apparel market:

“The event provided a strategic environment for building commercial relationships, reinforcing the Program’s commitment to the internationalization of Brazilian brands.”

Testimonials

“Fevest 2025 exceeded all our expectations as exhibitors. We noticed, more than in previous editions, buyers extremely focused on doing business. We achieved great success and truly closed sales. The Sindexporta project was executed with excellence, and the international buyers conducted a professional and technical visit to our factory. Of more than a dozen trade shows in which we have participated, this was, without a doubt, the best.”
José Américo, Evidenza

“Texbrasil plays a fundamental role in promoting the Brazilian textile industry, especially by bringing six international buyers to Fevest. This initiative not only expands business opportunities for local exhibitors, but also strengthens the visibility of Brazilian fashion and design. The presence of these buyers facilitates commercial exchange, allows the brands from Nova Friburgo to present their innovations and quality, and can result in strategic partnerships. Texbrasil’s work is crucial in connecting the national industry with international trends and demands, driving sustainable development and enhancing the value of Brazilian products.”
Gustavo Marques Moraes, President of Sindvest

Technical visits and partnerships in the spotlight

One of the highlights of the schedule was the technical visit to the Evidenza factory, a local brand that stood out among the exhibitors. The initiative was evaluated as an enriching experience for buyers, who were able to see up close the production processes and the high-quality finishing of the garments.
