Focus of 42nd SPFW is transformation

Transformation, transgression, transition. For its 42^nd edition, Sao Paulo Fashion Week is once again calling attention to the scenario of changes characteristic of the start of a century. There are new challenges, new ways to do things and other opportunities. The prefix trans- translates the idea of going further. Alone or in association with other words, it is the brand for this edition, being held October 23 to 28, at Ibirapuera Park and in other locations across the city.

With pop set design by designer and artist Kleber Matheus, light is the guiding element in this moment of projecting changes and celebrating the force of the creative movement. Debuting at this edition is the LAB brand, from brothers and artists Emicida and Evandro Fiotti, with creative direction by designer Joao Pimenta. There will also be a special participation by Memo E+, in partnership with Lolitta, as well as by Just Kids, a new brand from designers Juliana Jabour and Karen Fuchs, and by Experimento Nohda, a collaborative project that joins the PatBo, Apartamento 03 and Lucas Magalhaes brands.

In addition to the fashion shows, Sao Paulo Fashion Week is presenting the following exhibits: “Lino + Miro – Constructions of image,” the result of a collaboration between Lino Villaventura and photographer Miro, and “Essence,” a photographic exhibit by Rodrigo Bueno. The Iguatemi Shopping Center in Sao Paulo also brings the “Fio da Meada” project to the official SPFW calendar, a multidisciplinary program that will include a series of contents and will include major names in Brazilian and international fashion, retail and consumption.
