Four Texbrasil brands take part in Expotextil Peru 2018, in Lima
Expotextil Peru 2018 is being held November 8 to 11, in Lima. Among the companies exhibiting at the event are four members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – carried out through a partnership between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association). They are Santa Constancia Tecelagem, Dalila Textil, Audaces and Creora, which belongs to the Hyosung group of South Korea.
The show has been introducing the latest in the textile segment to the Peruvian capital for a decade. This year, the event is gathering over 250 exhibitors from 17 countries around the world. Organizers expect over 26,000 visitors to attend during the four days of the event.
According to Jesse Ruiz de Moura, a Textile Engineer with the Hyosung group, the show is the perfect opportunity for Creora, a producer of elastane for Hyosung, to further strengthen its position in the Peruvian market. “In three years, we have managed to quadruple our elastane exports to Peru. Today, our product accounts for 40% of all elastane consumed in this market. That is 60 metric tons per month, 30 of which are exported directly from our Brazilian plant,” she explains.
And she adds that: “Our goal at Expotextil Peru is to strengthen our relationship with our customers in Peru and try to gain a slice of the market that currently purchases rubber.” According to the engineer, elastane is a sustainable option to this product, which is oftentimes harvested in a way that is not very responsible.
Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Manager at Texbrasil, has good expectations about results for the Program’s companies at the show. “This is an important event to position our brands in the Latin American market,” she says.
