Gabriela Sakate makes Marie Claire UK list

Marie Claire UK named its “5 hot new designers to watch” in an article published in the magazine last week (30/05). Those on the list are young, up and coming talents in fashion who deserve special notice. Among those “to watch” is designer Gabriela Sakate, a participant in the Ponto Zero Showcase. This project is developed by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), a Program developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), which serves as an incubator for developing and training new designers.

This is not the first time that the designer has gained notoriety in the British market; late last year, the Program brought “talent hunter” Stefan Niegel, from the renowned Not Just a Label website, to Brazil to cover Casa de Criadores and Ponto Zero. At that time, Stefan commented that the young designer had great potential. Recently, Sakate was also featured in the How to Spend It editorial, a luxury magazine supplement in the Financial Times.
