Group of 18 Brazilian brands takes part in UNIQUE BY MODE CITY show
From July 6 to 8, a group of Brazilian brands is heading to Paris to take part in UNIQUE BY MODE CITY, a major beach, fitness and lingerie wear show.
This edition of the event includes 18 Brazilian companies, who are attending the event in Paris, being held at the Port of Versailles, in parallel with the traditional Interfilière trade show. Support is being provided through two Brazilian fashion internationalization projects: Fashion Label Brasil, a project carried out by ABEST (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers), and Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), which is executed by Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association), both of which are partners of Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Participating members of Fashion Label Brasil include: Água de Coco by Liana Thomaz, Batiche, Hype Beachwear, La Sirène, Larissa Minatto, Lenny Niemeyer, Marta Reis, Salt Sun & Bikinis, Shorts.co and Sinesia Karol. And the participating Texbrasil member companies are: Amir Slama, Bikiny Society, Emporio Zart, La Clofit, Maryssil, Ouseuse, Rio de Sol and Serpentina.
The latest edition of the show, which was held in July of last year, paid homage to Brazil and featured an exclusive fashion show with looks from the companies that attended that show. The event’s organizers also awarded the “2018 Designer of the Year” to Brazilian fashion designer Lenny Niemeyer, the woman at the helm of the eponymous beachwear brand.
“Unique by Mode City is the biggest beachwear show in Europe and is a showcase for the rest of the world. Brazil has continuously gained a larger presence and we’re honored to have been recognized at the last show with the award given to Lenny. In addition to the substantial business generated, events like this help to position the country and Brazilian fashion in a market that welcomes buyers and tastemakers from every continent,” says Paulo Lourenço Bartholomei, President of ABEST.
According to Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Manager at Texbrasil, this initiative was very important to consolidate the image of Brazilian fashion in the French apparel market. “I’m sure that this year we’ll reap the fruits of the exhibit that began at the last show. Image actions like this are important to not only strengthen the Brazil brand, but also to shine a spotlight on our companies. And she adds, “we’re also confident in relation to the potential to generate business. UNIQUE is an interesting ecosystem; it attracts a good selection of European buyers and the attention of end consumers.”
