Hering has announced that it will resume its operations in Argentina. The apparel company and member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – is already looking at property to open a store in the city of Buenos Aires.

The company’s return to Argentina is part of an expansion project at the group, which maintains operations in Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay, where it operates through franchises. The company also has points of sale at department stores in Central America and in markets such as Panama, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic, along with plans to open locations in Chile and Peru.

Fabio Hering, the company’s CEO, said in an interview with Agencia Estado that the company’s return to Argentina happened because the market is expected to open up and start growing again.

In addition to the Hering brand, the group has four other labels: PUC, geared towards the kids’ market; Dzarm, youth and women; and the eponymous Hering Kids. According to official data, the company was operating a total of 803 establishments in Latin America in the first quarter of 2017. Of these, 651 are Hering brand stores. Information for this same period also shows that the company had year-over-year growth in revenue of 19.7%.
