International buyers close USD 66,000 in deals during agenda in São Paulo
Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Association of the Textile and Clothing Industry) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) — invited three Latin American international buyers to make a visitation agenda to showrooms and factories in São Paulo focusing on the textile market. The group was formed by Andres Cornejo, from Ecuadorian Cornejotex; Claudia Bernal, from Colombian Formfit, and Nelly Gil Chavez, from Peruvian Agua Clara. They were also at Inspiramais, a trade hall focused on presenting design and innovation in materials that receive 7.8 thousand visitors from the footwear, clothing, and furniture segments each edition.
The presence of professionals in Brazil generated USD 66 thousand in business, with prospects of another USD 78 thousand for the next 12 months. The eighteen companies visited have optimistic long-term expectations. They are: Werner Tecidos, Innovativ, Ecosimple, Sancris, HI Etiquetas, Kirimurê Brasil, Castanhal, Rhodia, ITM Têxtil, Stampa Studio, Vicunha, Berlan, Lunelli, Kalimo, Dalutex, Digitale Têxtil, Texneo, and Rosset.
Buyer Andres Cornejo says he liked what he saw in Brazil and believes that the visits can generate excellent results. “Visiting the showrooms and factories was an enriching experience. In the future, we hope to strengthen ties, establishing strategic alliances that always allow the development of the textile industry for both,” he explains.
Inspiramais takes place every six months and the next edition is scheduled for the middle of 2020.
