From July 16 to 19, three buyers and three journalists from abroad were in São Paulo at the invitation of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil  (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). They took part in a business agenda that included visits to Program companies and to Inspiramais  (July 17 and 18), a design and materials innovation show. The visit resulted in business of around USD 240,000, with expectations for an additional USD 260,000 in the next 12 months.

Among the international buyers were Antonio Vital (Portugal), Manuela Terzagui (Argentina) and Mora Becerra (Argentina), respectively representing retailers Vital & Relvas, OSX and Jazmin Chebar. While the press group included Monica Felix and Dario Varella (Argentina), of the Moda y Estilo TV channel, and Guillermo Alfonso, with economy newspaper El Nuevo Siglo Bogota (Colombia).

The companies showing their latest at the Inspiramais event included 16 Texbrasil members: Berlan, Britannia, Innovativ, Modele, Sancris, Tecnoblu, Rhodia, Hak Soluções Texteis, Sancris, Oficina Lamparina, Studio Aurum, Estudio Icertain, Estudio Capim, Dash Studio, Katia Flores and Lunelli. In addition, Digitale Textil, Covolan, Vicunha, Kalimo, Dalutex and Lunelli also received visits from the group.

“We set up a very rich agenda, aimed at showing the plurality and quality of Brazilian textile chain companies, while also generating more business opportunities and ideas for news stories,” explains Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Manager at Texbrasil.

According to Kaddissi, Inspiramais is now a reference because of its relevant content. “It’s definitely unique. The approach to innovation in showing materials with curation by Walter Rodrigues adds a lot to the experience for visitors,” she explains.
