The five international guests who were brought to Brazil to visit Inspiramais by Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, carried out through a partnership between the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) – had the chance to see this year’s textile and component industry trends.  The event was held in Sao Paulo on January 16 and 17.

Mari Liss Nunez Cubas, from Peru’s El Correo, and Lina Maria Benavides, from Colombian newspaper La Republica, talked with representatives from various Brazilian companies. Lina Maria has already published two articles in the Colombian daily as a result of the trip. In them, she discussed trade between Colombia and Brazil, which now benefits from a new agreement that took effect between Mercosur and Brazil, making Brazilian products more competitive. She also discussed how the show generated business opportunities between the two companies in her articles.

The group also included three buyers, who said that they expect to do USD 180,000 in business with companies visited: Mario Carnevale, of Calse, an Argentinean sporting goods manufacturer; Luz Arango, of Cher France, a Colombian underwear brand; and Daniel Lima, of Almatex, an Argentinean textile company.

According to buyer Daniel Lima, the organization was one of the high points of the event and he is certainly interested in returning for the next show.

During Inspiramais, guests were able to see 900 launches of goods in the footwear, apparel and furniture segments, including collections from seven companies that are Texbrasil members: Britannia Textil, Innovativ, Modelle Bojos, Moltec, Rodhia, Tecnoblu, Vicunha and Lunelli.

In addition to attending the show, guests were also able to visit three company’s showrooms: Rosset, Savyon and Berlan. The group spoke with executives, saw launches and was able to see textile production machinery and processes up-close. According to Sergio Fridrich, Commercial Director at Berlan, the company had a huge gain from the visit: “We were moved by the connection between people in the textile industry. Actions like this one promoted by Texbrasil are fascinating and heighten our perception, in addition to creating amazing opportunities.”
