Joanne: promoting Brazilian art to new markets

07/03/2023

The Rio de Janeiro women’s fashion brand Joanne was born in 2014 with the proposal to produce timeless, versatile and premium quality pieces. With its own manufacturing, the company uses fine fabrics, such as silk, linen and cotton, which guarantee the comfort of the clothes. In every collection, the brand brings embroidered pieces that highlight the beauty of Brazilian handicrafts.

To publicize national art and conquer new markets, the company is now part of Texbrasil (Program of Internationalization of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – conducted through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).

“Joanne was born to meet the desires of the contemporary, elegant, sophisticated, and determined woman who seeks to invest in pieces made with the best fabrics, with impeccable fit and exclusive design,” explains Verenice Pacheco, creator of the brand. With a physical store located in Rio de Janeiro (Rua Garcia d’Avila, 149 – Sobreloja – Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro – RJ), the brand also has a national and international e-commerce.

The clothing production process considers sustainability and social responsibility. The company seeks to work with suppliers that have quality seals and employs skilled labor, consisting mostly of low-income women in vulnerable situations, offering dignified and fair work opportunities. The brand practices and encourages the Slow Fashion movement to minimize environmental impact and reduce textile waste.
