Karsten launches Habitar collection

04/12/2024

“Living wholeheartedly is more than just occupying a space, it’s about allowing yourself to be fully there, creating homes that are true sanctuaries of affectionate memories and care for people.” It is with this message that Karsten, a century-old brand of bed, table, bath and decoration fabrics, and participant of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association), announces its new Habitar collection: a celebration of the life that pulsates and glows in each home, where spaces create memories of affection.

The line combines comfort and style, bringing a new meaning to the domestic space. Each piece is an invitation to pamper the senses, with environments that foster balance between soul, body and mind.

With a wide range of styles, from classic prints, such as florals, to contemporary ones, such as geometric patterns, the pieces complement the decor of any environment. The comfort-oriented approach means that each piece provides a feeling of relaxation and well-being. The collection was created to provide a warm and inviting environment for all moments and occasions, with inspirations divided into four distinct environments: boost, renew, generate and connect.

New yarn technology – The Habitar collection arrives on the scene, renewing the concept of comfort. The bedding line has the Cotton Soft Seal, with 100% cotton fabric that goes through an innovative finishing process, finished in calender, which results in products with a soft touch and light shine, providing more comfort. In the process, cotton is transformed into fabric through weaving, which consists of interlacing yarns placed in different directions: longitudinally (warp) or transversely (weft). The number of yarns is determined by the sum of them, in the vertical and horizontal direction, in an interlacing of one square inch.

All bed fabrics in the Habitar collection are made with worsted yarns and are hypoallergenic, available in versions with 300, 200 and 160 yarns. The 300 yard count fabrics use Egyptian cotton as a base and provide a supreme touch, which regulates temperature, is highly breathable and easy to iron. The 200 yard count line features a fuller and softer fabric, it is also highly breathable and wrinkles less. And the line with 160 yarns has anti-pilling technology, greater durability and less wrinkles.

“At Karsten, we are constantly seeking innovations that not only elevate the quality of our products, but also enrich the comfort experience in our customers’ homes. With the new Habitar collection, we take this mission to the next level. The introduction of fabrics with 300, 200 and 160 yarn counts is a significant milestone in this journey. The choice of Egyptian cotton for our 300 yarn count products was not by chance, it is a raw material recognized worldwide for its superiority, offering incomparable softness, durability and breathability that regulates temperature, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable night’s sleep. For fabrics with 200 and 160 yarns, we chose worsted yarns, which, through a careful selection and treatment process, result in a fabric that is softer, more resistant and less prone to the fabric pilling, maintaining the quality of the fabric for much longer”, details Leoni Pasold, Innovation consultant at Karsten.

In the bath line, SOFTMAX technology, exclusive to Karsten, is a finishing process for towels in which a jet of air is added between the cotton fibers. When manufactured, the towels are pre-shrunk and also have an anti-pilling finish, which prevents the loosening of fibers during use, the so called “fabric pilling”. Another highlight in the bath line is the Unika technology, also exclusive to Karsten, made only with selected fibers, which are intertwined in a unique and innovative way. These two technologies, SOFTMAX and Unika, when combined, result in incomparable towels which are softer, more comfortable, voluminous and extremely absorbent.

In the table line, practicality and beauty are offered, with textures, lines and colors, applied in different styles. The table line is developed with fabric technology and perfect fit. Nature Jacquard, for example, is made 100% with natural Brazilian fibers and Easy Wash anti-stain technology. The tablecloths provide the touch of pure cotton without losing the practicality and quality of Karsten products. Unika technology is synonymous with practicality: just have a damp cloth and the towel will be “brand new”, impeccable again. The treatment applied to the yarns protects the fabric fibers, preventing the action of stains and oily residues, allowing the product to be washed less frequently.
