Lectra brings BtoBe winners to Bordeaux, France

On January 23, Lectra, a company specializing in integrated solutions dedicated to the fashion, automotive and furniture industries, will host fashion designers Livia Campos and Gabriela Braga, winners of the Brazilians to Be (BtoBe) contest, in a visit to its headquarters in Bordeaux, France. After the visit, the designers will be in Paris to participate in Who’s Next as part of a group of 12 Brazilian brands supported by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil). The visit is part of the awards for the Brazilians to Be contest, an initiative aimed at finding, training and promoting up and coming Brazilian fashion designers and entrepreneurs. The contest is held by Casa de Criadores (House of Creators), an event geared towards young talent, and by Texbrasil, with sponsorship by Lectra.

Livia Campos, of Beira, and Gabriela Braga, of Gabrielab, were chosen by a jury made up of a commission of industry teachers and professionals at the latest edition of the contest, held in 2014. They won, respectively, in the “Fashion Entrepreneurs” and “Fashion Students” categories. In addition to the visit to Bordeaux, where the designers will the technological details available in the Fashion industry today, each will also receive BRL 10,000 from Lectra to produce a collection to be shown during upcoming editions of Casa de Criadores, in 2015. Lectra will also provide them with licenses for its design and modeling software, with consulting by its specialists.

Lectra’s sponsorship of BtoBe is part of the “I support Brazilian fashion” project, launched by the company at the 35th edition of the Casa de Criadores event, held in June 2014, in Sao Paulo. The initiative was created to reinforce the company’s positioning as a supporter of relevant initiatives for the fashion industry and to foster the spread of this idea to other agents in the market.
