Lots of colors for Printing’s S/S 2016

07/20/2015

A mix of lively colors and geometric shapes are found in the prints and fabrics of the 2016 S/S collection by Minas Gerais-based Printing, a member of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Inspiration came from the work of painter and designer Sonia Delaunay and artist Ai Weiwei, whose works are based on abstract art, shapes and cut-outs.

The artists’ influence on the collection is clear in the items’ prints, in the asymmetric cuts and in handmade drawings. For S/S 2016, textures are graphics and all fabrics are organic and environmentally friendly: silk, natural crepes, silk embroidery and stonework that guarantee clothes have a lightness and movement.

In cuts, midi dresses are one differential, with special note for jumpsuits and flowing, deconstructed skirts with cut-outs. Long and short skirts are embroidered and have impressive prints. Full looks using the same print are suggested, matching with shoes.

“We are concerned with building a detail-rich garment, exclusive prints that are unique in all of our collections. We are always looking for excellence in finishing, cuts and fabrics,” says Marcia Queiroz, the brand’s creative director. The collection explores the entire color portfolio, especially coral, orange, red, yellow and blue. “White is the new black, a big bet for the season. It is combined with other colors, in embroidery and plain fabric,” says Marcia.

The pieces can be found at the brand’s store in the Funcionarios district of Belo Horizonte, at Brazil’s best boutiques and in some foreign countries.
