Lupo introduces biodegradable stockings made using Amni Soul Eco® yarn
During the Green Nation festival, Lupo unveiled its biodegradable stockings made using the Amni Soul Eco® yarn, a Brazilian technology developed by Rhodia. The third edition of the event, which discussed the importance of sustainable practices for businesses and society, came to a close on November 27 in Rio de Janeiro. The Lupo and Rhodia brands are members of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
“The biodegradable stockings decompose in just three years when they are discarded in a landfill, while conventional fabric takes a few decades on average to break down,” says Carolina Pires, Commercial and Marketing Director for Lupo. Lupo showed the new product at the “Green Collection Studio” installation, where the public was able to take an up-close look at the process of making stockings. Amni Soul Eco® is a 6.6 biodegradable yarn with a formulation enhanced by Rhodia that allows clothes made with this material to quickly decompose after being discarded in a landfill.
