Market Week: business week welcomes 26 international buyers with the support of Texbrasil
From April 8 to 12, a group of 26 international buyers is visiting Santa Catarina at the invitation of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – carried out through a partnership between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) – and SINTEX (Trade Association of Spinning, Weaving and Apparel Industries of Blumenau). The goal of the trip is for guests to take part in Market Week business meetings, which include home fabrics companies Buddemeyer, Fibrasca, Karsten, Bouton, Lepper, Teka and Atlântica.
In the group are buyers specializing in home fabrics from Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and South Africa, representing international stores such as Toallas Lourdes, Edcon and Telltex.
During the five days of Market Week, held by SINTEX with Program support, the group is visiting the city of Blumenau, Brusque, Joinville and São Bento do Sul to attend more than 90 meetings. One difference in this model is the individual meetings scheduled at the showrooms and offices of the participating companies.
According to Lilian Kadissi, Executive Manager of Texbrasil, Market Week is notable for its ability to serve different buyers at once. “The logistics of the initiative allow these ties to be strengthened with the company, and this is very important in both negotiating orders and in networking,” she explains.
