Meet Ciso, a new Texbrasil member
Ciso is one of the newest members of Texbrasil (the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). Created in 2016 by designer Teca Pasqua, the underwear brand is notable for its contemporary design, with organic creations that flatter the female form using geometry and body-contouring cutouts.
With a degree in Fashion and Luxury Market from Senac in Brazil as well as from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, both in New York, the designer says that she studied the national and international markets for 3 years to perfectly adapt her brand to her dream and to demand. “I created the entire company myself, from the logo to its concept. I’ve always liked cutouts and clothing, but I didn’t find lingerie, especially in the domestic market, and that is how I started out in this fascinating world,” says Teca.
In an effort to awaken consumers’ feminine side, the brand already has its own store in its studio and an online store, in addition to partnerships with multibrand stores and other online stores. The next step towards growth is already in the works: participation at the Salon International de La Lingerie show in France. “It will be my first major contact with exports. For now, we have plans to open up to the European market and then in the USA, followed by Asia,” she says.
After joining Texbrasil, Ciso began working with training provided by the Program that helps companies to plan, adapt and edit collections for specific target markets. “In addition to helping qualify my company, adapting our products to the foreign market, Texbrasil has given me not only this basis, but also all of the Program’s expertise in this matter – in addition, of course, to making this dream a reality with support at shows and showrooms,” says the designer in closing.
