Minas Trend holds pocket version with focus on business
Minas Trend, one of the largest fashion business platforms in Brazil, announces an edition in a new format, scheduled for June 15 and 17. After the cancellation of the last two editions – due to the Covid-19 pandemic –– the event that takes place biannually in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, returns to the scene in a pocket version, and under the name Minas Trend Business Hotel.
To ensure the safety of buyers and exhibitors, the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG), which organized the event, reserved the TRYP by Wyndham Belo Horizonte Savassi hotel for the business trade show. “We decided to hold the event inside the hotel, as it is a controlled and safe structure. We will vacate an entire hotel, so as not to have a transaction of people”, explains Gustavo Macena, event manager, during the official live stream of the launch of the new edition.
In the new dynamic, the confirmed brands, which will be only 100 this year, will be allocated inside exclusive apartments. The idea is to guarantee social distancing and decrease the circulation of people. Business meetings have to be booked through an app.
“We managed to make an edition with almost half the size in exhibitors”, says Gustavo. In the past, the event brought together 200 brands, two thousand Brazilian and international buyers, and 20 thousand people. “In this edition, there is no space for non-business fronts. It will be focused on the trader, the buyer, the brand, and those who make Minas Trend happen,” he concludes.
Minas Trend
Minas Trend was created to promote Minas Gerais’ fashion industry, in the clothing, footwear, handbags, jewelry, and costume jewelry sectors. Bringing together the main names and brands in the Brazilian fashion universe, it has become one of the main pre-launch events, anticipating trends with its traditional fashion shows, and promoting business in its exhibition hall.
In 2020, the trade show reached its 26th edition. Since the pocket version of the event will not feature a catwalk, remember looks from previous editions in the gallery below:
