Natural Cotton Color and Santa Luzia Redes e Decoracao take part in Expo West this weekend
Expo West, one of the most important trade shows for organic and sustainable products in the United States starts tomorrow (March 11). Two Brazilian brands that use colored organic cotton as the basis of their products are participating in the show: Natural Cotton Color and Santa Luzia Redes e Decoracao. The two Paraiba-based companies are members of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Certified by Instituto Biodinamico (IBD), the organic cotton used is cotton that naturally grows colored and is grown without the use of additives or dyes. In addition to its sleeping hammocks, Santa Luzia will be showing décor items at the event, such as blankets, throws, rugs, placemats and cushions. “We’ll also bring other products made of recycled cotton mixed with fibers made from PET bottles. We want to show that the company is ready to compete in the international home fabrics market, while also serving people looking for ethical products and environmentally responsible companies,” says Armando Dantas, CEO of Santa Luzia Redes e Decoracao.
Natural Cotton Color will also have a Capsule Collection developed by Joao Pimenta , being launched just for the event and marketed to the international public. The collection joins the designer’s bold design with the sophistication of organic colored cotton. The label will also be showing its womenswear and accessories collection. “Going to the event means reconnecting with our contacts from last year, when we took part for the first time. Our goal is to get a representative in California, where we see a promising market for Natural Cotton Color,” says Francisca Vieira, CEO of Natural Cotton Color.
Expo West brings together exhibitors from various segments, such as apparel, home fabrics, cosmetics and foodstuffs, providing visibility for companies committed to production that is ecofriendly and environmentally friendly. Attendance at the last show was 70,000, with 2,700 exhibitors taking part.
