The new Coronavirus pandemic has presented several changes in the world scenario, including the cancellation or postponement of several in-person events. In fashion, it was no different and many dates were changed due to quarantine.

In Brazil, the events that would take place in the first semester have been cancelled, and will now have online or in-person editions scheduled for the second semester. São Paulo Fashion Week, for example, already had a program that merged physical events with online actions, such as a platform where people from the creative milieu can connect with the parades and know details of the brand and the process as the catwalk was occupied. The edition that would take place in April was cancelled, but plans are underway to keep the date for October, when the event will celebrate 25 years.

The Dragon Fashion, which would take place in May, has also been postponed, but the director of the event, Claudio Silveira, has already stated that this year’s edition will not be cancelled. Meanwhile, he announced that the event will promote, in the coming weeks, actions to support “both the world of author fashion and society as a whole,” showing that the event also seeks new ways to communicate with brands and people in current times.

Other events such as Minas Trend and Veste Rio also had their dates postponed, and could happen in the second semester.

International trade shows have also had date changes. The Swimshow, which would take place in July in Miami, has been cancelled, but the organizers are looking for an opportunity to hold the tradeshow in October. Unique By Mode City, which would be in June in Paris, will now be part of Who’s Next, promoted by the same organizers, as of September 4th.

Other beach fashion events have been postponed to the second semester, such as Splash Paris, which will now be in October. Another solution found to keep the events on the second half’s increasingly full calendar was to join forces. Destination Miami, which would take place in July, will be moved to September, where it will take place together with Coterie in New York.

Still without a confirmed date, the events promoted by Eurovet in the USA are scheduled to take place in September, including Interfilière NY and Curve NY. The Interfilière Paris is confirmed for September 5th to 7th.

Thinking collectively, French fashion federations, including women’s, men’s, lingerie and beachwear, came together to postpone the events that would take place in June. Thus, in addition to the above-mentioned tradeshows, the June edition of Tranoï will not happen either, only the October one.

The New York edition of Première Vision has also changed. While the Paris tradeshow is still confirmed for September 15th, the American version was postponed from July to September 30th.
