Pedro Lourenco and Teca by Helo Rocha kick off day five at SPFW
Starting out the fifth day of fashion shows at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, the Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) member brands of Pedro Lourenco and Teca by Helo Rocha presented their S/S 2015 collections this Thursday (April 3) morning. Pedro showed his capsule collection at the Iguatemi shopping center, with Helo Rocha using the Zeferino space in the Pinheiros district to show her latest for the season.
With Carol Trentini on the runway, the designer showed looks designed exclusively for the Brazilian market, with unfettered pieces that were almost minimalist, if not for the shiny detailing that gave the show a technological touch. With straight and clean lines, the looks contained a contrast between shiny and matte, as did the metallic looks. The collection had a fitted cut, showing a little bit of skin. The color portfolio contained black, khaki, white and orange.
Helo Rocha’s S/S is inspired by Art Nouveau, a style that is found in both long and flowing garments as well as in shorter leather pieces that are more fitted to the body. Graphic prints are found in cut-outs in the one-tone items, as well as in jumpsuits and other tailored pieces done in crepe, which also contain geometric stitchwork. The outdoor show further highlighted the flowing effect of long items. Patterns ranged from tribal to art deco and brought an interesting variety to the looks. The brand only showed one men’s look, with a shirt, blazer and shorts; it served as a preview for the brand’s first menswear collection, arriving in stores in August.
